Tell me these photos don’t look like they come out of some sort of retro scifi universe, I dare you.
Where these actually came from is Soviet Russia. These are helicopter factory Kamov’s aerosled models Sever-2 (1st photo) and KA-30 (2nd photo). Sever-2 was based on GAZ ‘Pobeda’ car while KA-30 was build from scratch. Both relied on Ivchenko AI-14 9-cylinder radial engine for power.
Here’s a postcard from 1968 depicting the areas where postal service used KA-30s.
